A Bout in the Hospital Filled With Sketching
Formulating a Character Around My Precocious Daughter
Any great character starts with inspiration and this one was my daughter. She's a unique little one who sees the world very different from others, she loves to create as much as she loves to play outside. During an unfortunate situation with her, she had her appendix rupture and had to spend a week in the hospital. To keep her company through her misery I spent many days in a bed next to her watching her heal. In order to pass the time I started sketching a character based on her. As with many things, some projects require a new set of eyes and a further study and this is one of those.
